$9M RFD software donation
RFD has granted to the Technical University of Crete 60 licenses of its petroleum engineering software, carrying an equivalent commercial value of 9,000,000 $. The donation will allow the students following the Petroleum Engineering MSc course to get familiar with the software thus getting an advantage in their future careers as the software is a standard in the oil and gas industry.
Through this donation, the postgraduate students will have the chance to get experience in working with company’s flagship product – tNavigatorTM. This software is designed for running dynamic reservoir simulations on engineers’ laptops, servers, and HPC clusters. tNavigator is written in C++ and designed from the ground up to run parallel acceleration algorithms on multicore and manycore shared and distributed memory computing systems.
Petroleum Engineering postgraduate program of the Technical University of Crete is a one-year, full-time program, designed to provide students with a scientific background in hydrocarbon exploration and skills in the practical aspects of petroleum engineering. The program begins in October, and leads to a Master of Science (MSc) degree. The program is run by the School of Mineral Resources Engineering.
